Wedding Photographer 2018 Highlights
Wow! 2018 really flew by didn’t it? Last year was an emotional year. I have made so many new friends, seen my family grow, but lost family too. But when I sat down to think about the highlights of past year, and my favourite weddings and engagements, narrowing it down seemed like a completely impossible task. I’ve witnessed so many beautiful moments, I’ve laughed (and cried) with new friends, and danced the night away celebrating so many amazing weddings.
I’ve been lucky enough to celebrate so many personal highs in my career too. I was nominated for RangeFinder magazine’ s Top 30 Rising Stars, I won the Lux Cotswold Wedding Photographer of The Year award, I was featured in Brides magazine, and featured by Sigma Imaging and Flothemes in their blogs and on social media.
I feel so lucky, and I truly couldn’t have done it without my amazing brides and grooms, and some unbelievably talented photographers who I count as friends.
In the past year, I’ve been blessed to shoot for one of my favourite photographers, Adam Alex, I’ve joined the incredibly talented Scott Johnson working for The Edge Photography, and worked with the lovely Graham Cheidwan (to mention a few names) . And on top of that, I’ve seen one of my closest friends, Debbie Ram, have chemotherapy and surgery and come out of the other side fighting-that really was the cherry on top.
Wyck Hill house, The Cotswolds – Natalie & Kurt
I moved to Cheltenham, in the beautiful Cotswolds, towards the end of 2017. The first time I photographed a wedding in the area was back in 2017. I was second shooting for Adam Alex, a good friend of mine, who is also (in my humble opinion) one of the best wedding photographers in the world. The wedding was at Coombe Castle. Well, that was it. I fell in love. I loved the area and the amazing venues, and I knew that I wanted to live and work here. When the opportunity came, I grabbed it with both hands. I’ve loved every single moment of being here.
Cheltenham is surrounded by so many dream photographic locations and its beautiful hills. If you venture out a little further into the Greater Cotswold areas, you have so many places to explore. Another couple who love the Cotswolds as much as I do are Natalie and Kurt, who chose to marry at the beautiful Wyck Hill House, hold a special place in my heart for a few reasons.
Natalie and Kurt’s wedding was the very first wedding I photographed, since moving from the Greater London Area to Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. As well as that, they are two of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. Being able to call so many clients friends really is a blessing, and what makes it even better is that I’m making friends while doing something I’m so passionate about.
Natalie and Kurt, thank you for being amazing!
